Members' fortnightly drop-in
Open Mic with Justin
Running a contact centre — or working anywhere in CX — can be a strangely lonely job. The people around you don't always get what your day actually looks like. Open Mic is a relaxed, off-the-record Zoom where you spend an hour with people who do.
There's no agenda, nothing to prepare, and no need to say a word if you'd rather just listen. Some fortnights it's a good group natter; other times it's just you and Justin having a chat. Drop in, drop out, stay five minutes or the full hour — all completely normal.
The "mic" is only yours if you want it. Ask something that's on your mind, swap notes on what's working (and what isn't), or sit back and take it in. Nobody's going to put you on the spot.
Justin founded ACXPA and has spent decades running and improving contact centres, including as CEO of a large BPO. But Open Mic isn't a consulting session or a performance — it's just an honest conversation with someone who's been in your shoes, alongside others doing the same kind of work.
Founder and CEO, ACXPA
Why come along?
It's a standing, no-pressure hour to talk shop with people who get it. Bring a question, or bring nothing at all — both are completely fine.
How it actually works
A standing hour to talk shop — no agenda
It isn't a webinar and it isn't a presentation. It's a standing, off-the-record Zoom hour where you can talk to Justin and other people in CX and contact centre roles — and leave feeling a little less on your own.
Some fortnights it's a lively group; other times it's one or two people. There's no running order and nothing to prepare — just a genuine chat about whatever's going on for you right now.
Things you might bring (none required)
- Something that's been bugging you at work — or nothing at all
- A question you've been meaning to ask someone who'd know
- Curiosity about what others in similar roles are seeing
- A cup of tea — genuinely, that's plenty
What this is
An informal, members-only catch-up
Not a roundtable. Not a presentation. Just a reliable, friendly hour to talk things through with people who understand the work — hosted by Justin.
FAQs
Quick answers
So you know exactly what you're walking into.
What if it's just me and Justin?
That happens, and it's lovely — relaxed, one-on-one time with someone who knows the work inside out. No big group, no pressure to perform. Just a good chat.
Do I need to prepare anything?
Not a thing. No agenda, no slides, no homework. Turn up as you are.
What if I don't have a specific question?
Completely fine. Plenty of people just come along to listen or have a general chat — you don't need a reason.
Do I have to stay the full hour?
Nope. Join for a few minutes, say hello, ask your thing and drop off — or settle in and listen. It's built for popping in and out.
Will sessions be recorded?
No, and that's deliberate. It's off the record so everyone can speak freely.
